Who We Are
We believe that central to the Gospel is God’s battle for and pursuit of the hearts of his people. Jesus’ mission is prophesied in Isaiah 61 and confirmed in Luke 4:18: He comes to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free. His invitation is simply this, “I love you. Will you walk with me so that I can fulfill my mission in you and through you?” The Enemy has assaulted this message and has done his best to place a veil over our hearts by conveying the opposite, “God’s heart towards you is not good. You are on your own. You have nothing significant to offer. Get it right and maybe God won’t be disappointed with you.” What we need is to see with the eyes of our hearts, by the light of God’s truth instead of through the veil of the enemy’s lies. In order to begin to see, we need a good Guide to lead us on a journey. And we need others to help us along the Way. In our walks with God, He has marked this Path to Life with some of the following “mileposts”:
Beliefs...
What you believe will determine how you live. Our mission is to help others uncover the lies they believe that keep a veil over their hearts and to replace them with the Truth. These beliefs are core to our own identity and our view of God. Our life experiences and our (mis)interpretation of them have shaped these beliefs, resulting in places of brokenness in our hearts.
Healing...
Christ wants to fulfill the promise of Isaiah 61 in each of us: to heal our hearts; to restore what we were intended to be.
Hope...
As Christ begins to heal the brokenhearted and set the captive free, we are able to experience the new covenant—“I really do have a heart of flesh and not a heart of stone; things can be different. My heart’s deepest and truest desires are for Him and His plan for my life.”
Vision...
What is the purpose and mission of my life? Along each of our journeys, He wants to reveal to us through our heart’s desire the purpose and mission of our life. And this mission is so significant that it is often one we are almost embarrassed to believe we could play a role in fulfilling.
Love...
When our heart experiences the love of God and is impacted in our journey through the other mileposts, we become dangerous for the Kingdom of God, able to lay down our lives for others, offering genuine love, strength and tenderness to those around us.
This journey is not linear. We visit these mileposts again and again throughout our journey as He fulfills 2 Corinthians 3:18 in our lives: “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
We are too close to our own lives to be able to see our lives clearly. Trying to see your own life is like trying to see a huge mural with your face an inch away from the painting—maybe you see a few details but there is no way you can see the whole picture. We need others to see our lives with the eyes of their hearts. We need them to know our stories and we need to know that they are for us, cheering us on in our journey and picking us up when we fall, refusing to leave us behind. Our desire is to help build these redemptive relationships.
Jesus stands at the door and invites us on a journey, a journey that will not be easy and that will require more than we could imagine. But it is a glorious journey of intimacy with Him as he chips away at the veil that clouds the eyes of our hearts. He is inviting us now, "Will you follow me?"

So Why "Piercing the Veil?"
